Ungraded Tests

There will be an ungraded Math Topical Review this Thursday. The topics are
1) Numbers to 10
2) Number bonds
3) Addition within 10
4) Subtraction within 10

I'll return the file and workbook to all the students tomorrow. They are to do corrections at home if they can't complete them in class tomorrow.

Next monday, there will be an ungraded speaking test. Students will be recording their voice in the computer lab.

Today, I have conducted a simple word order ungraded test.

Show and Tell Session

There will be a Show and Tell Session in class next week.
The topic of the Show and Tell is ‘My Family’. The objectives for this session are to provide your child/ward a platform for him/her to share something with his/her classmates and to build his/her confidence in public speaking. Your child/ward is encouraged to bring a drawing or photo of their family.

Here are some suggestions on how you can help to prepare your child/ward for their Show and Tell session.
You are free to include more/other points to make your child’s/ward’s presentation more interesting.

For example:
Introduction of Show and Tell presentation• Greet the teacher and friends.
• Introduce themselves and class your child/ward is in
• “This morning/Today, I will be sharing with you about my _______” ( topic )

Development of Show and Tell presentation
• Introduce the topic for Show and Tell.( “This is a photo/drawing of my family”)
• How many members are there in the family?
• Where do your child/ward and family stay?
• Share about their parents’ occupation
• Share about their brothers or sisters

How to end his/her Show and Tell presentation
• Share their feelings towards their family.
• End the session by thanking the class for their attention.

Handwriting- Test

This Friday, there will be a penmanship ungraded test. Students will be tested on 'letter formation' and 'relationship to line'.

Announcement

1) SMART Card Photo Taking
It will be on 18 Feb 11. Students must be in school uniform on that day. Since it is a Friday, students can bring their PE shirt and shorts to school. They can change it during recess time.

2) Construction of Covered Walkway at Gate 3
Gate 3 will be temporarily closed from 12 Feb 11 to 20 Mar 11.
Gate 3A opposite Block 501C will be temporarily open during the construction period. The operation hours of Gate 3A will be the same as Gate 3.

Reading Before School Starts

Every morning, students will read a storybook from 7.15am to 7.25am before they sing the National Anthem.

Work Out on Wednesday

Physical exercise is important. It is beneficial to our bodies and minds. That is the reason why Wellington sets aside one period every Wednesday for it. WORKOUT!
